Alright! Possum wants to know who's using a descrambler? :tongue2:

>>Alright! Possum wants to know who's using a descrambler? <<
All of us. Actually, using an anagram finder is useful for scrambling the name into a funny anagram -- but not so useful for descrambling.
And in an attempt to prove that I realized that I had made a spelling error in my last clue. I was after "rhinocerous beetle" -- but that ain't how you spell rhinoceros.
So ... nevermind.
alan
And here was me thinking I was totally thick, unable to unscramble even one anagram.
I am off to "oelgog" a descrambler.
:cjlol: :tongue2:

Hey, I'm not cheating! It took two cups of coffee to get that darn guinea pig.
Leopard
skip a wild crow bed
Black Widow Spider (with a slight modification)
rim thumb hog mind
I can not do this game:doh:
Please tell me how to cheat, someone ?
Sorry, Eve, I've never cheated on this. Just spent hours agonizing,
until something clicked. Maybe Alan can enlighten us-but it really
wouldn't be any fun.

Hummingbird Moth and you shamed me into it -- I solved this one legit
What was the headline in the local paper when Marquette U disposed of the rare suburban avian?
Coll. sells Pewaukee Birdy
of course. But I used an anagram finder for this clue. (http://www.wordsmith.org/anagram/advanced.html)
alan

and you shamed me into it --
alan
heh heh... ok, Now I am ashamed and must admit something...
I admit that the only reason I didn't cheat is because
I'm not smart enough
to cheat effectively enough
to make it an acceptable strategy for me;
if time is a factor for consideration...
Of course, if I was only smart enough to figure out
how to cheat adequately in this damn game;
I wouldn't need to cheat.
Crikey Jeez.
Catch-22s follow me around like stray cats.
P.S.
There IS a solution for this, isn't there?

>>There IS a solution for this, isn't there?<<
Yup.
I'll give you a hint ... The answer will tell you what kind of birdy it was that the coll. sold.
alan
need lots of hours to figure these out..I'm really stumped
Alan, I am invoking my magical moderating powers and declaring you the winner - PLEASE tell what birdy the Coll. sold before we all go demented. :)
And because you were so mean to post this impossible anagram I am posting the next one - it will be the only chance I get because I cannot do them and no one will tell me how to cheat properly.
So I shall make it easy peasy...
Edible Stew

Coll. sells Pewaukee Birdy (and just to be clear, Pewaukee is a suburb of Milwaukee, Wis. which is the home of Marquette University)
Yellow Bellied Sap Sucker
Edible Stew is easy. But only if you know how to spell wildebeest.
Yellow Bellied Sap Sucker :cjlol: No wonder we couldn't guess it. It looks like a 'rowpodceek'
Very ingenious! Now I can spend a peaceful morning without
having to wrack my brain identifying a scrambled bird.
Would you approve of setting a different category each week, e.g.
fish, mammals, reptiles, etc? This could start on Mondays and be
chosen by the last person to post after 10 p.m. EST. The current
riddle at the time needs to solved first.
I vote for that idea Maka :)
Another animal to be going on with......
Obtain cod
Clue: would be a good friend for Possum :)

Possibly Conan Doyle's "...Giant Rat of Sumatra, a story for which the world is not yet prepared"?
Does anyone remember the Firesign Theatre's Sherlock Holmes spoof of that name. Or better yet -- does anyone have it digitized and uploadable so I can steal it?
