Setting transparencies Print E-mail

Have you ever had an image that you really like, only it has a background that you wish didn't show? Well, here is a way to get rid of those.

Actually, I have two favorite sites for doing that - Gifworks and Myimager.  At Gifworks, you can work with animated images, but at Myimager you will need nonanimated images.

To use Gifworks, go to http://www.gifworks.com/ Click on "file" and then "file open". Under "method 2" click on "browse" and then when the box comes up, find your image, click on it and then click "open". Now click on "upload image".

When the image appears, click on "edit" and then on "add transparency". Wait for the image to appear in a smaller box and then click on the background that you want to be transparent. When the new image appears, go to "file" and then to "file save" and wait again for the final image. When it appears, right click and save it to your computer.

Or you can use myimager at - http://www.myimager.com/ Please note that your image must be in gif format and nonanimated. (If not, you can change it to a gif by using our article "How To Change Image Formats".) Next click on "click here to begin". On the next page click on "browse". When the box pops up, find where you have stored your image and then find your image and click on it and then click "open". Now click "upload".

When your image appears, go up to "effects" and then scroll down to "set transparent". On the next page, click on the area that you want to be transparent. When the next page comes up, wait for your image to load and then click "set transparent". Your image will now appear with the background taken off. Go up to "file" and then to "save". When the image appears on this page, right click and save it to your computer.
