A little introduction from all of us.
Amie--
Hi, My name is Amie and I have recently relocated to Cheektowaga, NY, from the beautiful town of Cheltenham in the Cotswolds of England. I think most people would say that I spend too much time on my computer, but I have an absolute love of solving problems and hate to give up on anything, even if it means staying up all night, which I frequently do. Up until just under 7 years ago, I had never really used a computer, and didn't even know you had to click the Start button to close it down (How Silly!), but I have an insatiable appetite for learning, which has got me where I am today, able to help other people. I mainly specialise in the registry, software, and obscure error messages, as despite having had the same computer all this time I have never had to format it or install an operating system, but it is tweaked to purr like a pussycat. There are very few hours in the day when I am not available within minutes if ever you need advice or help with something.
--------------------------------- Les--
Hi there, I am Les. Recently rocketed from simple member to Site Admin, through necessity rather than ambition. I live in Cheltenham and work there and in the surrounding Cotswolds as a Telephone Engineer for British Telecom. I have a son, grandson, grandaughter and three daughters. My daughters think I am a Taxi Driver rather than a Telephone Engineer. My camera is never far from my side which led me into looking after the 'Photo Mania ' forum and The Photo of the Month Competition I like motor sports at all levels, and Liverpool Football Club Tinnitus is one of the banes of my life, as it can disrupt my concentration badly, so that I will blame now for any errors in my future posts. ----------------------------------
Eve--
Kia Ora, My Name is Eve and I look after The Games Room here. I live in New Zealand and work for a legal firm, looking after their Library and Deeds system.I have 3 grown up sons and recently overheard one of them comment that their mother came to computers late in life and is now addicted. That just about sums it up although the 'late in life' bit was not appreciated. Having so much of the world's knowledge and information at my fingertips is something I really like. I enjoy the challenge of learning new things and making new friends, and MPC provides both. BC (before computer) my hobbies were dressmaking, reading and gardening. I still manage a bit of each occasionally. Haere Mai - Welcome. --------------------------------
John--
I am John, (jbs3645) and I am from Washington, in the Pacific
Northwest. My wife and I have 2 sons and 4 granddaughters, all of which
live close by.
I retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years, and have had a few jobs
since then. I finally called it quits a couple of years ago, and now
devote my time to our granddaughters, computers, and home. I also enjoy
reading.
I have played with computers off and on since the early 80's, but never
got into them much except for a few games and some work. I have since
built both of my computers, one running Windows XP Home, and my main
computer running Sidux, and am looking to build a couple more for the
experience. I am new to Linux and really love it.
I am the moderator for the Linux forum. Please stop by and visit. -----------------------------------

Linda--

Welcome to MPC! My name is Linda and I live in Adairsville, Georgia which is a little northwest of Atlanta. I am an administrative assistant to a wildlife artist and I have also worked as a compugraphic typesetter and layout artist for a local newspaper. I love working with graphics! I have tried to find "fun" things that can be shared by all. Most people think that you have to buy programs to work with graphics, but I have tried to find ways of using sites from the internet so that everyone can be creative and it won't cost a thing. Just follow the graphics and images links in the tutorial section and come along and let's have some fun!
"Linda's talent for making graphics is evident in her work. What makes it even more amazing is the medium she uses--all free websites! As a graphic designer myself I am quite taken aback at what she manages! She is a gem and a blessing to this site. If you need help with an article, Linda has always been ready to help anyone as much as she can. So please post in the Graphics and Images forum by clicking here! and I'm sure she would be more than happy to help you!"
